Background
On May 7 – 8, 2004, the Canadian Religious Conference and Kairos Spirituality-for-Social Justice Centre sponsored an educational workshop in Ottawa called: Trafficking in Women and Children: A Lucrative Multinational Business. What is Our Response? The outcomes of this event were: an increased awareness of the issue, increased local interest about the problem of human trafficking, and the formation of PACT Ottawa. Members contribute their time, ideas and area of expertise on a voluntary basis to the action of the group.
Our Vision:
To recognize the human dignity and promote the well-being of all trafficked persons.
Our Mission:
To network with other groups to prevent the trafficking of persons and increase the protection of victims.
Our Goals:
Our main goals are prevention of human trafficking and protection of trafficked persons. We use the tools of education, support services, networking and lobbying.
