PACT-Ottawa's Response to Bill C-310
On March 15, 2012, PACT-Ottawa respectfully presented its response to Bill C-310 An Act to Amend the Criminal Code (Trafficking in Persons) to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights. Following testimony from the Sponsor of the Bill and several expert witnesses, as well as questions and discussion by the Committee, the Committee agreed that the Bill proceed back to the House as amended for Third Reading. It will be debated on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. For background information about Bill C-310, please click here. PACT-Ottawa's Response to the report of the Standing Senate Committee on Human Rights
In November 2011, the Standing Senate Committee on Human Rights tabled its report entitled "The Sexual Exploitation of Children in Canada: The Need for Action." The report is available in English and French.

The members of PACT-Ottawa commend the Standing Senate Committee on Human Rights for releasing a thorough report that addresses the need for action on the issue of child sexual exploitation in Canada. PACT-Ottawa has formulated a response based upon the eight recommendations included in the report.
