PROJECT imPACT

- Preventing and reducing the trafficking of women and girls through community planning -

Project imPACT is part of PACT-Ottawa's human trafficking prevention initiative. This project aims to prevent and reduce trafficking of women and girls in Ottawa through community planning.

Collaborating closely with Crime Prevention Ottawa, the Ottawa Police Service and St. Joe's Women's Centre, and engaging additional community partners from a variety of sectors, PACT-Ottawa has developed a community plan that addresses the trafficking of women and girls for sexual exploitation, including its root causes.

COMMUNITY ACTION PLAN

Based upon the findings in the Local Safety Audit Report, PACT-Ottawa devised a plan
consisting of four main actions to reduce and prevent human trafficking for sexual exploitation in Ottawa.
We have entered the implementation phase of the community plan.
The 4 pillars of the action plan are:

WHAT WE'VE ATTAINED SO FAR

As part of the Community Action Plan, PACT-Ottawa has developed working partnerships
with all stakeholders including HT survivors to assist in enhancing public awareness at shelters,
group homes, youth organizations and high schools.
This is where we are at today:
Last Update: March 27th 2015

We are planning to have reached 1000 youth by completion of this project.

To date, we have reached
100% of those youth.

27% of the educational forums and discussions have been held in French.

The education campaign
has reached all age ranges that
are considered “at risk”.
We have 10 facilitators who are
fully trained to present our Youth Workshop in English*.
*Training for francophone facilitators is projected for this fall.  If you speak French and would like to become a Youth Workshop facilitator, please write to: education@pact-ottawa.org.
