First National Roundtable on the topic of Human Trafficking
for the purpose of Organ Removal (2015)
PACT-Ottawa gathered together with experts and stakeholders to discuss the issue of organ trafficking and trafficking for the purposes of organ removal. The roundtable was the first step in preparing for a conference hosted by PACT-Ottawa in 2015 in the National Capital Region.
The intent of the conference is to formulate a Canadian Action Plan to stop organ trafficking. The Conference will serve to heighten the priority of organ transplantation on the political agenda and will reaffirm commitment to concrete action against organ trafficking. To ensure broad support for the Action Plan and sustained progress towards its goals, many stakeholders, experts and decision makers will be invited to the Canadian Conference.
