Trafficking in Canada

About the TruckSTOP Campaign

Human trafficking is a serious crime and a violation of human rights. The TruckSTOP Campaign is an awareness initiative that provides frequent travelers with the knowledge they need to identify suspected cases of human trafficking and alert law enforcement. Truck drivers and frequent travelers are the “eyes of the road” and the first line of defense against human trafficking.

LISTEN to an MP3 of “WATCH for the Signs,” the TruckSTOP audio documentary on human trafficking in Canada.

The TruckSTOP Campaign is funded in part by Public Safety Canada.

"In the Game"

In the Game is an interactive activity designed for youth as part of PACT-Ottawa's Project Protect.  Participants place themselves in the shoes of a person who is at risk for human trafficking and consider the choices they might make.  For more information or to schedule a session, please write to:  info@pact-ottawa.org.

Blanket Exercise

The Blanket Exercise (© KAIROS 2011) is an enormously popular and successful teaching tool that uses participatory popular education methodology to raise awareness and understanding of the history of the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada.
