Current Vacant Volunteer Positions

This page describes opportunities to work for social justice as a volunteer.

PACT's Board of Governors is volunteer based.  Board applications are accepted each spring in an effort to fill any vacant positions.  Board members are selected by a vote at the Annual General Meeting in May.  Terms are 3 years and are renewable.  If you are interested in this type of oversight role, please keep an eye open for our spring recruitment, and submit your application! Please direct questions to

Board Member
​

Secretary
  • The secretary is responsible for attending all meetings and for the purpose of recording all votes and minutes of all proceedings and to ensure appropriate record keeping of corporate.

​Volunteer Presenters
Key Responsibilities:
  • Travel to various locations within the Ottawa Region.
  • Present workshops in an engaging and interactive manner.
  • Encourages participation and open discussion ​

Coordinator Positions
​We are also accepting applications for the following coordinator roles:
​
Membership Coordinator
Tasks:  With the support of the Board, you will
  • Attend monthly meetings of volunteers, third Thursday evening of the month
  • Respond to queries from prospective members
  • Participate in the recruitment of volunteers to key leadership roles
  • Develop and provide an orientation session for new members
  • Continually update the orientation package for new members
  • Encourage members to participate actively, in ways that are meaningful to them 
  • Create and lead a recruitment strategy to augment the membership
  • Maintain a current list of members
  • Initiate and help to plan social events for volunteers
  • Plan and implement a volunteer recognition program

Event Coordinator
Tasks:  With the support of the Board, you will
  • Conceive and implement a fundraising strategy for PACT-Ottawa and lead the execution of that strategy
  • Plan and execute events
  • Coordinate PACT volunteers working on any event
  • Approach and involve other community partners, organizations and members in events
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with volunteers, community organizations and any other stakeholders
  • Coordinate all aspects of events, including venue, program, refreshments, media, promotion
  • Oversee and support the Freedom Relay and End Slavery Day Coordinators in planning their annual events
  • Attend monthly meetings of volunteers, on the third Thursday evening of each month
